See It in Action

About PantrySmart
PantrySmart is a complete kitchen companion that tracks your pantry inventory, scans barcodes, sends expiration alerts, matches recipes to what you already own, plans meals, builds grocery lists, and helps you waste less food — all while keeping your data private and on your device.
The average household throws away roughly 30% of the food it buys — hundreds of dollars a year in the trash, and a significant environmental burden. Most people don't waste food intentionally; they lose track of what they bought, forget what's expiring, and default to ordering takeout because they can't figure out what to cook with what they have. PantrySmart was built to fix every part of that cycle: it tracks what's in your kitchen, warns you before anything expires, matches recipes to the ingredients you already own, plans your meals for the week, and generates grocery lists from the gaps — so nothing goes to waste.
Scan a barcode or type in an item, set the expiration date, and PantrySmart handles the rest. The barcode scanner includes an offline cache, so you can add items even without internet. Your inventory is organized by category and storage location — fridge, freezer, pantry, cabinet, or custom zones — with par levels that alert you when you're running low on staples. The recipe engine matches against your current inventory, showing you what percentage of each recipe's ingredients you already own and the cost per serving. When it's time to cook, Cook Mode walks you through each step with built-in timers and progress tracking, and automatically deducts ingredients from your inventory when you're done.
Unlike most kitchen apps, PantrySmart doesn't send your grocery habits to a server. Your food data stays on your device, with an optional encrypted relay to sync across your household's devices. There are no analytics, no ad-targeting based on what you eat, and no data-brokering your shopping patterns. The waste tracker logs food you throw away and surfaces trends over time — which items you overbuy, how much money you've saved by using food before it expires, and actionable insights to adjust your buying habits. It's a useful tool that respects your privacy.
Core Features
Inventory Tracking & Barcode Scanning
Scan barcodes to instantly add items with product details, or add them manually. Track expiration dates, set par levels for auto-restock alerts, and organize items by location — fridge, freezer, pantry, or custom zones. The barcode cache works offline, so you can scan items even without internet.
Recipe Matching & Cost Tracking
PantrySmart suggests recipes based on what you actually have in your pantry, not what you need to buy. See what percentage of each recipe's ingredients you already own, track the cost per serving, and scale recipes up or down to match the number of people you're cooking for.
Meal Planner & Cook Mode
Plan your meals for the week with a drag-and-drop calendar. Export your meal plan to your device calendar. When it's time to cook, Cook Mode walks you through each recipe step by step with progress tracking, built-in timers, and a preview of the next step. Ingredients are automatically deducted from your inventory when you finish cooking.
Smart Grocery Lists
Automatically generate grocery lists from your meal plan and low-stock items. Lists organize by store section (produce, dairy, frozen, etc.) so you can shop efficiently. Save reusable templates for weekly staples and share lists with your household through encrypted relay sync.
Waste Tracking & Insights
Log food you throw away and see where waste is happening. PantrySmart tracks your waste analytics over time, showing you which items you overbuy, how much money you've saved by using food before it expires, and trends in your consumption patterns. Actionable insights help you adjust buying habits.
Encrypted Relay Sync & Household Sharing
Sync your pantry across all your devices with an encrypted relay. Household mode lets multiple family members share a single pantry inventory — when someone uses the last of the milk, everyone sees it updated immediately. No account creation required, and your data is encrypted end-to-end through the relay.

Most pantry and recipe apps are designed to sell you groceries. They partner with delivery services, serve you ads, and monetize your shopping data. PantrySmart has no partnerships, no ads, and no data collection. It's a tool that works for you, not for advertisers.
The app runs natively on iPhone, iPad, and Mac with encrypted relay sync. Your data is encrypted end-to-end between your devices. The one-time Pro upgrade of $9.99 unlocks unlimited items, advanced categories, household sharing, meal planning, widgets, and batch entry. No subscription fees — pay once, use forever.
